Who am I
I am a writer. I may be not a very good one or a popular one, but none the less, I am a writer. When I was a girl, it was cool to doodle the names of New Kids on the Block in my notebooks and figure which denim-clad hunk you were going to marry. I did that of course (hello MASH) but I also made up stories of how we would meet and when and why. I have been writing, in one form or another, my entire life. I have boring journals where I said such eloquent statements like “I wore a green dress, March, 8” and creative writing notebooks full of a story about a girl super sleuth. As a child, stories were a part of who I was. As I grew older, my recounts of the daily grind in a nursing unit or how my child reacted to something always had people in stitches.
I’ve been told I have a knack for storytelling. In days of old, I would have been sought after and my porch would have rocking chairs full of folks who loved to listen to me smacking my gums together and telling bits of personal history. Today, my front porch is replaced with a web address and my storytelling is now a blog.
Who Am I? I am a storyteller.
As a lifestyle blogger, I have a unique opportunity to throw a bunch of spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks. Not only, in doing this, have I made a mess, but I get to see how readers respond and bring content that is relevant to you. Interaction with the blog is by way of subscription and comments help me to better hone my skills to bring articles you want to read and tips you will use. I could talk all day about how I organized my Disney Binder but if zero of you are interested, is it really helpful?
I get to learn about you throughout our encounters together and I get to think up ways to serve you best. This truly is a service to you, my sweet readers who become friends. I want you to look to Wild Unruly and Loved for tips, tricks and enough “me too” moments that we become good friends.
I also write helpful book reviews so you can decide what your family will read, how exciting it will be, and ages best for the books listed. A sort of self-help with friendly advice thrown in, because…. us Southern women can’t but give advice on life from the front porch.
ABOUT ME
Yep…. that’s me, sporting a sequin skirt and heels in a Florida pine forest. I mean, who doesn’t find themselves in a sequin skirt and heels in a pine forest at some point during the day? And that girly holding my hand and sassying it up next to me, that kiddo is fan-freaking-tasking. That kid knocks my socks off with her herpetology knowledge and her kind heart. She amazes me every day with how she views the world. That sass Y’all, that is genuine sass. That is Southern Lass Sass.
Now move on over to that cute cowboy in his jeans and hat. That’s not for show Y’all, that is his daily outfit. He rocks those jeans and cowboy boots and that hat….. that boy is something. He is a fishing outdoors and pocket knife-wielding country boy. He is Texan through and through, don’t you dare say he is from Florida. No sir, he will correct you and fast. He is a funny little guy that makes us laugh and keeps me on my heeled toes.
Now finally that gentle, good-looking man, yeah he is a keeper. Y’all just don’t even understand how smart, and amazing he is. That man has loved me for 15 years and has never wavered, always steadfast. never complaining. He makes sure our family is taken care of and works hard for all of us. That man is my biggest cheerleader and without him telling me my dreams are not big enough, I’d never even try. He has been the love of my life since I was a wee babe of 19.
Who am I? About me?
I am God fearing. I am a mistake making redhead. I am a giant hot mess on a Sunday. I am a book lover, a homeschool teaching, animals are everywhere, missing Texas like crazy, trying to be a better parent, the kitchen came with the house, beach loving, Netflix watching, obsessed oil user, sweet tea and lemonade on a porch swing, just trying to pretend I have it all together, binder and planner obsessed, women.
WHAT I DO
While I mainly write about the events of the week, I do bring a unique gift of a love of grammar to the table. I am in editing and while many would say that is boring, I believe it is exciting. I get to work first hand with authors who craft stories of jungle adventures and worlds of the unknown. I can make your paragraphs have more zing and your sentence structure more conducive to your authentic style. I proved services for both full and partial edits as well as beta reading.
I believe full heartedly, that you need to love your editor. She (or He) needs to “get you” and your vision for your writing. They need to understand you and listen to you before editing for grammar and content and flow. I offer free 1 hour consults to get a feel for my personality and your idea. I also can give stats on books I have edited and services I provide.
