I celebrated my 24th birthday last week and man, I feel so free! I’m so liberated by what God has graced me with and what He saw fit to take away. I have only grown stronger in knowing who I am and who I am called to be: a bold daughter of the King whose life reflects His light.
Ever since I was a little girl, my mom always made sure I knew who I was. She taught me to be immovable in my faith. She trained me to stand tall in the midst of a world that will not fully accept me simply because it never accepted Christ. She taught me things wouldn’t be easy and that regardless of who’s with me, the real MVP on my team is Christ.
This last year, I’ve especially learned we go through everything we go through so Christ can refine our character!
Through my own experiences, I’ve seen how God can redefine and refine our character to give us the grace we need in all situations. He makes you bold. He makes you brave. He makes you stand tall and backs you up.
You have absolutely nothing to worry about and you have all the freedom in the world when you choose to live like Him. You have absolutely nothing to worry about and you have all the freedom in the world when you know who you are. When you are a living, breathing testimony of all God has done in your own life, you are free from having to defend or explain yourself. There’s no time for scrambling for words when God got you.
To reiterate: When you know who you are, you don’t have to explain yourself!
Being unapologetic about what you do and Who you do it for changes the whole game. It brings about a freedom that’s unexplainable! People don’t have to understand your decisions, your surroundings, your life. When God provides clarity, that conviction is enough.
When chaos attempts to enter your life, sit back and brace yourself for the blessings. No, your blessings aren’t being blocked. You’re simply being prepared for them.
So, you just do you, sis! God stands by the righteous — He goes before you and speaks for you!
True freedom is giving God each every aspect of your life and saying, “I know who you say I am and I trust you with this.”
Whether you struggle with being bound to people’s opinions, the need to be understood, or you feel stuck to society’s standards, I encourage you to run into the arms of the Father who is willing to shake your shackles loose. It is only then that you will know who you are. It is only then you’ll find yourself undeterred. It is only then that you will be able to watch God work life out for you.
It is your choice. So really, do you want to be free?
